On Saturday, June 29, a milestone in Philippine grassroots football is about to start as the first ever PFF-sanctioned national tournament for Under-15 teams kicks off.
Aptly named as Stars of Tomorrow, the competition aims to kickstart a more centralized means of strengthening the grassroots program towards the elite level, and forming the junior national team.
It could also start bridging the gap of the junior national squads and the senior Azkals in terms of competitiveness in the international stage.
The tournament will be in a significant scale involving 33 teams around the archipelago and will run until November this year.
And with the groupings already determined, according to regional proximities, the journey begins for these youth squads towards being the first ever national champions.
