Stallion U-15 Youth Squad bags AboitizLand Football Cup-Luzon trophy

Stallion Youth Academy were crowned champions of the Boys U-15 category of AboitizLand Football Cup-Luzon after securing a hard fought 1-0 win against PCU United in Final of the Boys U-15 category last November 9 in Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.

Stallion began their campaign in the competition brightly by not losing a single match in the round-robin stage.

The Young Stallions eventually topped the standings, bagging a total of 16 points from 4 wins and 4 draws.

In the semis, they defeated Calamba Puppies Team B, 2-0, to book a place in the final where they faced PCU United, who also had a strong showing heading into the deciding match.

But it was Stallion who proved to be more superior, edging out PCU United with just a lone goal that proved the only difference in championship match. 

Boys Under 15 Top 4:

  • Champion: Stallion Youth Academy
  • 1st Runner-up: PCU United FC
  • 2nd Runner-up: Cavalieri Football Academy
  • 3rd Runner-up: Calamba Puppies B
  • Category MVP: Joaquin Buenviaje (Stallion Youth Academy #31).
  • Finals MVP: Mikkel De los Santos (Stallion Youth Academy #35)

In the Mixed Open category, Lipa-based Real Molinillo bested 11 other teams as they were crowned champions by beating a much favored Kapamilya in the final also through a lone goal.

The Mixed Open tournament started out with two groups.

Group A was topped by University of Batangas, who won all of their five group games. Meanwhile, Group B was topped by Schwarz FC from Don Bosco.

In the quarterfinals, UB defeated SPC United FC, 1,0. Schwarz advanced to the semis after taking on Cavalieri FC and defeating them 5-4 on penalties.

Eventual champions Real Molinillo de Lipa squeaked past Mentors FC 1-0 to book a semifinal spot and the final quarterfinal match was won by Kapamilya United FC, 1-0 against Lipa United FC.

UB was beaten by Kapamilya in the semis but did enough to win over Schwarz FC to claim third place as a consolation.

  • 2nd Runner-up: University of Batangas
  • 3rd Runner-up: Schwarz FC
  • Category MVP: Jake Martinez (Real Molinillo de Lipa #40
  • Finals MVP: Nestor Natanauan Jr. (Real Molinillo de Lipa #13) 

The next festival day will be held on November 16, 2019 and will feature the Boys Under 19 category (born 2000 or after).
